RENT, BUY OR BUILD (YOUR FUTURE)?
Pets are not the only one who are beeing discriminated against when it comes housing – housing in central europe
In this discussion, 5 countries were represented, so we were able to talk in depth about our experiences of moving and housing in Slovakia, Ukraine, Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
We talked about the difficulties young people face, the existence or not of family and goverment support, and the attitudes of landlords, the things we have to deal with when we want to move into a rented house. We tried to answer the question: why is it that in Western Europe almost everyone rents, while in Central and Eastern Europe, ownership is a status symbol.
With a dog, with friends, alone, with your partner or at home with your family? When and under what influence should we become independent? We discussed these questions.
